Fix Windows Freezing or Not Responding

Troubleshooting guide for Windows computer freezing issues.

Solution Steps

  1. Wait 1-2 minutes (system may be processing).
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager → End unresponsive programs.
  3. If Task Manager works: Identify high CPU/RAM programs → End task.
  4. Run Windows Memory Diagnostic: Search "Windows Memory Diagnostic" → Restart and test.
  5. Check disk health: Run chkdsk command (Command Prompt as Admin).
  6. Update drivers, especially graphics drivers.
  7. Scan for malware and viruses.
  8. Check Windows Event Viewer for error logs.
