How to Set Up Port Forwarding on Router

Guide to configure port forwarding on your router for gaming or servers.

Solution Steps

  1. Access router settings (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
  2. Log in with admin credentials.
  3. Find "Port Forwarding" or "Virtual Server" section.
  4. Add new rule: Enter service name, external port, internal port, and device IP.
  5. Select protocol (TCP, UDP, or Both).
  6. Save settings and restart router.
  7. Test port forwarding using online port checker tools.
